You have inserted a femoral nerve catheter into a 45 year old patient who has been delayed for surgery following a road traffic accident. After loading the catheter with 10ml of 0.25% Bupivacaine, the patient has become unresponsive.

a) List the potential causes of collapse in this case.

b) What are the signs and symptoms of local anaesthetic toxicity (LAST)?

c) Outline the management of LAST
