Question of the Week - Week 1 (Thyroidectomy)

Hello, as this is week 1, and there are very few people registered at the minute, I might let this one run for an extra week or so!

A 46 year old woman is listed for a total thyroidectomy and has a goitre due to Grave's disease.

a) List some important factors which should be covered in your pre-op assessment

b) Outline your intra-operative management (including induction and emergence)

c) List potential post-operative complications, and explain their prevention / treatment.

Hello,

Will call this one to a close on Friday and include an 'answer', and include it as a .pdf below, probably. That way, people can look back over the past questions and download them to keep as resources.
